A Reflection and a New Capability
It’s cleanup time in my storage room. Two boxes of shredding await transport to the facility. But, cleanup is also a time of discovery. You know experience that every time you go through your wardrobe and find a gem you’d forgotten about.
A three-inch stack of handwritten notes from my old writing classes were a pleasant surprise, taking me back to both challenges and perspectives from a couple of decades ago. Some of the pieces represent ideas to build on today.
But, crap! They are handwritten. Do I type them into my word processor? Do I read them into Garageband to make a recording?
I’m dreading the chore. Are these stories actually worth the effort? What to do? And I should say, most of the cursive handwriting is barely readable.
Nevertheless, I scanned one of the documents, made a pdf and asked Gemini to make sense of it. Voila! Gemini gave me a clean text, told me it was a good foundation for a story and asked if I’d like to have it “cleaned up.”
“Of Course,” I replied.
Suddenly a pile of memories and what might have been scrap paper is a new resource.
It’s a great Saturday.
